]]>To The Wonder :: A New Film From Terrence Malickhttp://benjaminasimpson.com/blog/2013/4/9/to-the-wonder-a-new-film-from-terrence-malick.htmlBen Simpson2013-04-09T15:22:38Z2013-04-09T15:22:38ZIn 2011, you may remember buzz surrounding The Tree of Life, a film nominated for three Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography). Reviewers were divided, as critics debated the merits of the storyline and presentation. I grew interested in the film through the writing of Matt Anderson, and through a little research, learned more about director Terrence Malick by way of Brett McCracken. In the days leading up to the Academy Awards that year, I watched Tree of Life and was struck, like other critics, by the powerful imagery and unique style, but struggled to follow the non-linear sequencing of the story. I applauded the film, however, for the subtle way in which themes of sin and redemption, law and grace, were explored.

On Friday, April 12, To The Wonder, Terrence Malick's latest, will debut. Here is the trailer:
