A Book Deal You Don't Want to Miss...

    Picking Fruit

In preparation for the Lenten season, News and Pews reports a price break on 13 books, a few of which are great titles--$3.99 for eReaders from 2/5 to 2/19.

Some of the titles are not for me, but there are three I would recommend. I'll link to Amazon. I have shared this in the past: Amazon purchases made via a click-thru from this website help support my life and ministry. In the past, this has amounted to about $10 every 18 months or so, which shows up as an Amazon gift card, which I turn in to books. Please keep this in mind in the future, dear reader, and thank you for your patronage.

    Without further delay, the links:

    So enjoy, and share generously.

Around the Web :: Lutheran Insulter, Lent, and the Pope

I can't help but laugh at Luther.  Perhaps spendings some time with the Lutheran Insulter will help me be more bold when challenging others.

Gizmodo deemed the Pope's Twitter handle spam-like, bizzarre, and "the worst of all time."  I tend to agree.

And finally, Christianity Today posted an analysis of what people gave up for Lent in 2012, according to Twitter.

Monday Give Away :: N.T. Wright's Christians at the Cross

We are in the season of Lent.  This week I'm giving away a meditation on the passion, cross, and resurrection of Jesus.  A set of brief, Lenten sermons, N.T. Wright's Christians at the Cross: Finding Hope in the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus is an enjoyable and insightful read.

For a chance to win a copy, answer the following in the comments:

Are you observing a Lenten discipline?  If so, why?  If not, why?  And if you're observing a discipline, what did you take up (or lay down) this year?

I'll continue to keep the Twitter option alive as well.  Share this link on Twitter and mention me (@bsimpson) to add your name to the mix.

    Blessings!  Comment away!
