Prof Simpson, Thanks for your article regarding Spiritual Formation. In my heart, Spiritual Formation is the other half of Evangelism, they both must be intentional. Frequently, the new babes in Christ are not led to learn how to walk spiritually while they are hungry to learn a new way to live.
I called Truett in the early 2000,s eager to find a graduate to serve as a candidate to serve as Pastor of our church who understood the concept of Spiritual Formation…they didn’t understand my request. I was influenced by Dallas Willard , John Ortburg and James Bryan Smith in my understanding of the critical need to lead our church to know and live victorious lives as devoted, obedient Christ-followers. Thank you for what you are presently doing at Truett!
Thanks for reading, Jay. Let’s continue to encourage others to grow in Christ!
